Notes of Thanks from Members of Our Community
We are grateful to have received many thank you notes over the years from community members to whom we have provided services. Here are some excerpts from these letters:
My family and I can’t thank you enough for all your help and support through these hard times. We don’t know how we would have managed without the generosity from your organization. You are in our thoughts and prayers. P.S. The animals say thanks also!

You have truly been a lifeline for us in what has been a very difficult time. I can never adequately convey my gratitude – my sincere hope is that we will pull through our financial hardship soon, and we look forward to giving back to your generous organization.

Dear EAA, Thank you for the Easter basket, chocolate and bunny chalk.

I can’t even find the words to express how much I appreciate all you have done for me for the past few years. You’ve been there for my tears and fears, my good times and bad. Somehow things have worked our but without your help, I couldn’t do it without your help. You are my guardian angels and I have cried many times for all your support. Thank you and have a wonderful holiday.

I just wanted to thank you ladies for all that you do. Not only do you help with the holidays, back to school stuff but going out of your way and calling me to tell me about Parks and Rec activities. You ladies never make me feel ashamed or embarrassed for needing help. It honestly means so much to me. Thank you so very much.

Thanks for all you have done in my time of crisis. You leave me with a warm feeling every time I see you or talk to you on the phone. Thank you! The backpacks are another blessing, another thing you took the worry out of. Truly you all are amazing.

Thank you so much for all that you do for the residents of Suffield. We are so grateful for the meals on wheels program and truly appreciate your kindness- especially when we forget to call in! Thanks again and a very Merry Christmas to you all!

Thank you for your help supplying our grandson with school supplies and clothes after our recent house fire. The help was much appreciated. There was so much our grandson needed and we were overwhelmed with all that needed doing. Thanks!

Dear Friends, Once again we thank you for your year round commitment to helping so many residents of Suffield. You are our town’s constant angels.

Dear Suffield Emergency Aid, The help that you have provided to me and my two children the past year has saved us more than you’ll ever know. It was because of all of you that we made it through the year. We can never say or show how truly blessed and thankful we are for you. Just know how much you lightened my load as a single mother and you lightened my kid’s lives with your generosity.
——
Thank you for funding my daughter’s driver’s education classes. She is officially registered and that wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of programs like yours! Thank you also for the Easter basket, gift card and food.
——
Dear Emergency Aid, Thank you for sending us to camp and giving us food and supplies.

My husband and I just wanted to thank you for being so kind, so helpful and so understanding and thank you for not being judgmental or treating us with disrespect. It was so difficult for us to have to ask for help. Your kindness and patience made us feel like you really did want to help us. We are so very grateful to you for making this that much easier. I hope to one day “pay it forward”.
——
I can’t begin to thank you enough for helping me get through this rough patch in my life. You are so kind and understanding. You are a beautiful person I am happy to know.

Thank you so very much for all you have done for the children and me. It has been a very difficult time but your help and smiling faces always gave me the courage and strength to move forward. You have touched our lives in such a positive way. Thank you just doesn’t seem enough. You truly are angels and have hearts of gold. Thank you for being there for us and for everything you have done for us. We really appreciate and value your kindness and generosity.

Your thoughtfulness meant a lot to me and I don’t know what is about you three, Pat, Beth and of course you, Janet but every time I call or pop in for whatever, your voices and the look on your faces makes me feel at ease. I feel like you touch me in a way that makes me feel everything is going to be alright. I just wanted you all to know your comfort helps me make it through the day. Thank you for that. I would be lost right now without your generosity, help and caring. Thanks again.

Dear wonderful ladies at Emergency Aid, I want to express my loving thanks for being so kind to provide the lovely, tasty lunches for all of us during our 8 weeks in our bereavement group. It is so thoughtful and helpful to all of us going through the tough journey after a death of a dear one in our lives. Thank you for all the loving works you do daily. Much thanks and affection.

I am sincerely honored to have been selected as the recipient of the Jane Purtill Fuller Memorial Scholarship. Thank you for your generosity, which has allowed me to pursue a career in nursing at the University of Maine. I look forward to making a positive impact in the world, caring for those that are sick or injured. I want to display a genuine compassion for my patients and comfort them in time of distress. I hope that through my career I will be able to explore the world by becoming a travel nurse or volunteering abroad. I am excited to see where life takes me and am very grateful for your assistance with my education expenses. Thank you!

The Emergency Aid Association does so very much for so many people but what you did for my family and I is a story that needs to be told. Here I am standing in an Emergency room closet with a cardiologist doctor telling me “your son is dying and we don’t know why!” I mean at that very moment I was just gone. When I called to get help with something; which that in itself was something not too many people in need have the option to do. To just pick up the phone and know that your staff is going to answer the phone and the answer is always, “of course, yes, no problem”. I just want you to know that even though I am no longer a Suffield resident, I know in my heart God put me in a place to be able to be surrounded by many wonderful people. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping not just me with food, or what have you, but for putting your hearts on your sleeves and diving into the ditches to talk with me, and hug me, and to give me an ear to chat upon. My son’s illness was devastating to my entire family. Without you, I don’t know what I would have done. I was so scared and lost. I cried so very much. When he died I was inconsolable; in the back of my mind I knew you all would be there. Thank you for being you. You are all an asset to the community in Suffield. You have always been there for me like my extended family, a lot of times you were my only family! I just want you to know not a day goes by that I am not grateful to all of you, your volunteers, your board and the entire entity, Emergency Aid Association!
