What if transportation was not an issue in getting to your destination on nights and weekends when the Mini-Bus is not operating?  Perhaps you’d go to a restaurant, the cemetery, a birthday party, the library, a church service or a friend’s house?  You can! In conjunction with Nutmeg Senior Rides, Suffield Community Aid has funding to assist financially qualified Suffield residents, age 65 and older, or persons with a disability, get to where they want to go. Nutmeg Senior Rides provides door-through-door transportation, for any purpose, 365 days a year.   Call 860-668-1986 to see if you qualify.

Suffield Mini-Bus: Transportation is provided to Suffield residents over the age of 60 and permanently disabled persons. The Mini-Bus is a prescheduled transportation service, designed to aid and supplement qualified Suffield residents in their transportation requests for activities of daily living. Road to Recovery: The American Cancer Society Road to Recovery Program provides transportation to and from treatment for people who have cancer who do not have a ride or are unable to drive themselves. Volunteer drivers donate their time and the use of their cars so that patients can receive the life-saving treatments they need. Transportation for persons on Husky A, C and D: The Connecticut Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Program, NEMT, is a program to assist HUSKY Health Medicaid members in getting to and from their healthcare appointments. NEMT is a limited transportation benefit that is provided to eligible Medicaid members in Connecticut who have no other way of getting to their medical, behavioral health or dental appointments. ITN North Central Connecticut Dignified Transportation for Seniors: Their mission is to provide a community-based, community-supported, economically viable and consumer-oriented, quality transportation service for seniors and adults with visual impairment. WayToGo Connecticut: Serving 37 towns in the Greater Hartford area, WayToGo addresses the needs of Senior Citizens, Veterans, and Persons with Disabilities to help them navigate their transportation options. WayToGoCT.org

Nutmeg Senior Rides: The mission of Nutmeg Senior Rides is to improve the quality of life for people 50 and older and adults with visual impairments by providing members affordable, door-through-door, personal transportation.
