Yes, there is not a charge for SCA services. SCA is a private not for profit charity. Our services are funded by a combination of community donations, program income from a contract to provide social services to the town and our endowment.
SCA also has a small outdoor food pantry and anyone is welcome to use it. Use of the main indoor SCA food bank requires individuals or families to provide some basic information and limited financial details to qualify. The foodbank is stocked with non-perishable food items as well as personal care items and pet food. In the summer and early fall, foodbank users will also have access to fresh fruits and vegetables from our volunteer run garden and community donations.
SCA has rollators, walkers, canes, crutches, knee scooters, transport chairs and wheel chairs for loan. We also have other items that are donated that do not have to be returned: gauze, first aid supplies, grab bars, blood pressure monitors, wound care supplies, bed pads and hygiene supplies.
Donations of non-perishable food items, student backpack supplies, personal care products, etc. can be dropped off at the SCA building during normal business hours (8am-4pm M-F). Financial donations can be made via PayPal or Venmo through our website or via check.
